LIFT Standards implemented a workplace STI/HIV/AIDS prevention project in the garment industry. LIFT benefit from the trust and confidence it has earned from manufacturers in Bangladesh over the years of operations. It has earned a reputation for a rigorous, yet non-confrontational approach to monitoring of labour standards, workplace training and consulting during interactions with workers, lower management, factory owners.

The project aimed to reduce the risks of STI/HIV transmission and improve the sexual health of factory workers by:  

a) Increasing their STI/HIV/AIDS knowledge and protection skills; and 

b) Creating well-managed, factory-based training and education programs that prevent employees from being infected with HIV and to prevent those infected from being discriminated at their workplace.
